The Top United States Democratic Presidents

It is not an easy task to decide the top ten Presidents of the United States. Each of them had served their nation in the best possible ways. The time period and social condition made each of them face different tasks and challenges.

Though, George Washington is the easiest President to be chosen as one of the top five Presidents. George Washington served from 1789-1797 as the first President of the United States. The most significant contributor to the formation of the Constitution is President Washington and he was the only U.S. President to be voted for President by the people for both the terms. He refused to serve another term in 1797, though the people wanted him to see as the President again that year. It is because of his faith, patriotic beliefs, today U.S. is one of the greatest democratic nation.


During 1861-1865, the President recognized by the Lincoln Memorial, Abraham Lincoln was the President. It was the Civil War, the most crucial time when the President Lincoln served the nation. Lincoln raised his voice against the decision of Southern States attempt the break with the union and lastly due to his efforts, he ended up in keeping the country as one. He had also put an end to the slavery in the South. In 1863, Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address at the dedication of the Soldiers’ National Cemetery, PA is one of the most famous speeches of the U.S.

Another President who served the nation battling in the World War II was President Roosevelt. He was in power from 1933-1945 and in 1933 he also helped the nation through the end of the Great Depression. To help the country from coming out of the Great Depression, he formed the “New Deal”. The Americans feel peace when they leave their work or job for retirement due to The Social Security Act created by Roosevelt. His leadership helped nation in coming out of the troubled situation and make the nation secure in long terms.

President Harry Truman, the wartime President was efficient enough at handling the end of World War II. He ruled from 1945 -1953. The difficult decision of atomic bombings against Japan at Hiroshima and Nagasaki was taken by the President Harry Truman. And when the U.S went into Cold War, the leadership of Truman’s leadership made the nation a strong and helped the nation in proceeding on a positive course.

President Woodrow Wilson served the nation when it was undergoing World War I. He remained in power from 1913 -1921. Due to his skillful leadership qualities and diplomacy, America was declared successful in World War I. The Federal Reserve Act, the Clayton Antitrust Act and the Federal Trace Commission Act issued by him improvised the nation to a great extent. Woodrow Wilson also won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1919.

These were the country’s top five Presidents. Though there were many others who also served the nation with the same zeal and patriotic beliefs. But the aforementioned perfectly fit into the examples of the type of person a nation looks when electing a candidate for the United States Presidency.
